๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐ at the pocket knife in Danny's hand, taking it with a sigh and wiping the blood onto her jeans before pocketing it once again. The stench of the metallic liquid invaded her senses making her shut her eyes as she breathed, trying her best to ignore it.
Her eyes fluttered back open as Danny laid a hand on her arm. "Seriously, thank you."
Her eyes drifted from his sincere ones and down to the body on the ground as she spoke almost robotically. "Yeah, no problem."
"You didn't have to kill him," Matt spoke, facing Sticks' direction.
Stick rose a brow, pointing his blade in Olivia's direction. "The wolf killed him."
"Look, he's dead now, it's done and the kid is okay, leave it." Jess spat, looking between the two blind men, nodding as the Hale sent her a thankful look.
Stick huffed. "Either way, we got our answer. He's what they've been after all along."
"Yeah, well, we knew that."
"We didn't know the Iron Fist was the key to what the Hand seeks. The word isn't accidental."
Olivia continued to keep an ear on the conversation, but her eyes didn't move from the decapitated corpse. She didn't feel sad; she did what she had to do, she saved Danny, though, in the back of her mind, the tally of people that had died because of her grew by a mark, her shoulders felt heavier and her throat tight.
She couldn't help but think back to the conversation she had with the man earlier. He was right, New York was to be painted red with her victims, and he was the first of them.
Thankfully, Luke's voice brought her attention out of her mind and back to the conversation. "So you literally think Danny opens something?"
Stick nodded, his body turning to face the unmoving corpse "And that something is worth dying for."
Danny shook his head as he addressed Stick. "I'm a weapon. I'm not a key."
"That you know of."
"What could I possibly open?"
"You tell me. Must be why they haven't killed you." The old man scoffed.
Olivia sighed as she brought a hand up to her temple, a few flakes of dried blood falling from her fingertips. She knew less than the rest of them. Stick clearly had a lot of information on the Hand that hadn't been shared yet, as for Danny, she felt sorry for the kid, well, kid was a stretch, he was probably what twenty-two? Technically an adult, but still the youngest; it was a lot to have such responsibility placed on his shoulders. His powers being the deciding factor on whether New York would still be standing tomorrow.
"The Iron Fist's chi is a weapon. That's true." Stick began as he circled Danny. "But I've heard stories about it being used for more. To seal things shut. Or opening them again."
The wolf rose a brow. "So you think the Hand has something that only he can open, that's why they're here?"
"Come on, you don't believe that?" Danny questioned as he moved closer to the woman who held her hands up.
"Listen, I don't know what to believe, but those so-called stories? We'd be stupid to ignore them."
"Exactly." Matt agreed. "It doesn't matter if you think it's true or not. It's something they believe is true."
Danny scoffed as he looked between the wolf and the devil before pointing an accusing finger towards Stick. "He was a member of the Hand. An organization formed by lying psychopaths. You can't trust a word he said."
"I understand that Danny, but the way I see it, we only have one move."
Danny frowned in confusion as he looked around at the group, panicking slightly as Olivia and Luke shared a look and nodded to one another before their eyes moved back to him. "Woah. What do you mean?"
"To keep the Iron Fist as far from them as possible," Stick concluded as he came up behind the boy.
Olivia rose a brow as she walked forward, coming to Danny's side, Luke on the other side. "He's right Danny. If they get their hands on you, who knows what'll happen, whether it's true or not, we can't risk it."
"Seriously? I've dedicated my life to this fight. You need me. We all need each other" Danny pleaded with the wolf. Olivia understood him, she did, he wanted to be a part of the fight, but if the hand got a hold of him? Who knew what could happen? They couldn't risk it.
The other five continued to walk closer, forming a circle around him as he tried his best to reason with them. "This is exactly how they work. They divide us. They get into our heads. They weaken us."
Luke moved closer, reaching out an arm to the boy. "Danny, just take a deep breath and calm down."
Danny smacked the man away, his hands coming to his head to grip at his hair in frustration. "Stop telling me to calm down, Luke! This is what they want!"
"Sowande wasn't lying," Matt interjected.
Olivia nodded, her mess of hair falling out from behind her ear as she did. "He's right. His heartbeat was steady, It didn't waver at all."
Danny scowled as his eyes flickered between the two. "And where was his heartbeat when he came up behind me?" He moved closer to the pair who stayed in their places. Olivia nodded when she caught Jessicas stare, telling the girl she could handle it. "It's the Hand. You know how they can operate."
Danny turned his back on the pair as Stick moved closer, he was cornered like a wild animal and Olivia knew it wouldn't be long until he finally bit back. "And now we know what they need. It's you, kid."
"Stick, you're falling for their trap."
"If Alexandra gets a hold of you, the war's lost." The old man spoke, with a shrug as he twirled his blade. "I can't allow that."
The Hale stepped backward with a sigh as Luke took the stand, why couldn't they agree on this? It wasn't a hard decision; Danny needed to be kept away from the Hand, sure Stick was going down an intense route and perhaps they could, you know, just tell the kid to keep quiet and lay low- Just as Luke had then voiced aloud.
Danny shook his head. "We're running out of time. They're hunting our friends, our families, and they're not gonna stop there. You heard what he said. This ends with New York in ruins." He paused, taking a step closer to Luke, the one most likely to let the kid get his way. "They want me on their sidelines because I'm the only one who can destroy them."
He then turned to face Jessica, who had been silent the whole time. "Jess?"
Olivia rose a brow at her friend who sighed and traced her eyes over the group. "How do you suggest we hide him?"
Danny's scoff echoed across the room, he was shaking, anger radiating off of him as he gave Jess an intense stare. "Fine. I'll go back to doing this without you if I have to. I've already lost one city, I'm not losing another."
Olivia threw her head back in annoyance as Matt stepped into Danny's path, blocking the boy from taking his leave. This was going to end in a fight, an absolutely pointless fight.
"Really? You're gonna try and keep me here against my will-"
"I hear what you're saying, Danny... And no one loves this city more than I do, but you can't leave this room."
The wolf and the P.I shared a look; they would do as they always did, intervene when they least expected it, if they had to that is.
The boys continued to argue, Danny bringing up Elektra once again; a stupid decision really, when you're trying to get someone onto your side, sure, bring up their once dead, now murderous ex- slash- best friend. Good choice. Luke eventually added his two cents to the conversation, spurring Danny on even further until the boy had enough.
His breathing was heavy and his balled fists began to shake as his voice came out low and threatening. "You guys seriously need to back off."
"You just stay here. We can keep you safe, all right?" Matt spoke, trying to talk some sense into the boy, or at least somewhat calm him. "You just need to calm down."
"Well, that's the problem, Matt. I'm all out of calm."
And that was the moment everything went to shit; Danny's fist flew upwards, smacking into the side of Matt's face. The devil rose his head with a grunt as he spat a mouthful of blood to the ground, jutting out his jaw in pain.
"Oh, for fuck's sake," Olivia muttered, throwing her hands in the air as Jess came to her side looking exactly how the Hale felt, bored, pissed off and tired. The woman hummed tiredly in response, both girls were ready to smack each of them back to hell, chug three beers and sleep for seventy-two hours.
The room was silent for a tense second before Matt retaliated, throwing punch after punch and backing Danny into a corner.
"Jesus Christ." Jessica groaned as the two watched Luke join in with the fighting, punches, and kicks were exchanged, Matt somersaulting and jumping around as he threw punches, Luke steady as a rock and barely moving as Danny's hands connected with his large body.
Now, as annoying as the fight was, Olivia had to give it to the boys; Matt and Danny could fight, well, she could fight, but they could fight fight, if you know what she means. She had super strength as Danny so eloquently put it, as did Jess, so the girls primarily counted on that. Sure her brother had taught her how to box back in Beacon Hills, but this? She was entertained, but if the fight lasted any longer, she was afraid that both her she and Jess would choke on the testosterone.
"Oh, God no." The wolf groaned as Danny brought up his glowing fist. Danny slammed the powered up punch into Luke's chest, sending him flying backward along with the others; a large shockwave swept them all off of their feet, launching them backward along with whatever else was in the wave's path.
Olivia growled as she lifted her head, the back of it aching where she had slammed into the wall, her ears throbbed as her body tried to heal the damage the force had done. She pushed the chair that had landed on her small frame off of her with force, breaking it into pieces as it collided with the wall.
She scanned the room, Jess was on the ground just a pace away from her, looking as pissed as ever, Luke was slumped against the wall and Matt was clutching at his ears, clearly the shockwave had not only damaged her hearing but his, unfortunately for him, he didn't heal as she did.
Olivia pushed herself to her feet, her healing kicking in and allowing her to regain herself much faster than the rest of them, though admittedly, she did stumble for a moment as she walked over to Danny. The boy stared at her with what could only be described as a 'Please don't hurt me' look as he tried to bring himself off of the ground.
"Thank you for that." The wolf growled sarcastically as Danny's eyes widened further.
"Liv-"
Olivia grabbed the back of his head with one hand as her other curled at her side. "Dick." And with that, she brought up her clenched hand a threw a rather hefty punch towards the poor boys face, knocking the boy out instantly. She scowled as she stared down at the boy, before noticing that a large splinter of wood -probably from the chair that had mounted her- was protruding from her hand. With a low and pained grunt, she gripped the piece of wood and ripped it from her hand and threw it at the boy, the piece of wood making a small 'Thunk' as it bounced off of his forehead.
"Couldn't have done that earlier?" Jess groaned as she heaved herself to a sitting position.
Olivia pointed a finger that was still coated in dried and crusted blood in her friend's direction, the rest of the group staring as she did. "I hate you."
"I get that."
